Gareth Maguire
Maguire was born just outside of Belfast, Northern Ireland, in 1974. He works predominantly in painting, but love as well. Having grown up during the height of Ireland's political unrest, many of his pieces are politically charged--dealing with the suggestive dichotomies he’d been exposed to such as nationalism versus unionism, and freedom versus occupation. As a student of physiology and biomechanics, there is an underlying anatomical theme in his work. Other recurring themes are religion and death. The ever-presence of death can be attributed largely to tragic loss of his only sister at age seventeen.
Bob Schneider
Schneider was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan. When he was two, his parents moved to Germany where he spent most of his childhood. He has won numerous awards both nationally and internationally for his artwork. After attending the University of Maryland in Munich, Germany, and then the University of Texas at El Paso, where he majored in fine art, he moved to Austin, Texas, where he currently resides. He has written two books of poetry and has published a book of art and poetry called 'I have seen the end of the world and it looks like this'; Schneider has received no awards for any of these. He continues to write, make art, record, perform and produce music for a living and has written over a thousand songs, some of which you may have heard.
